Our group is a safe, welcoming place for teens to come and explore their faith. Each EYC meeting on Sunday nights (August - May) is designed to have something for everyone, from a delicious dinner, to the games we play, to the songs we sing. We incorporate creative worship, prayer, small group sharing, and friendship building each week. During the summer months, June and July, service is our main focus, along with building a strong community of young people.
There are 8 EYC leaders in addition to a full time Canon for Youth Ministry; Anne Taylor. Every adult leader has had a background screening and taken a 3 hour course on Safeguarding God's Children. Every youth meeting, event, trip or service/mission trip is fully chaperoned with our trained staff at a ratio of 8 youth to 1 adult. HONDURAS MISSION TRIP FOR OUR LITTLE ROSES
A Cathedral EYC team of 12 students and 9 adults will take off from the Orlando airport and fly into San Pedro Sula, Honduras on July 11. This will be the fifth visit by the EYC as a group to Our Little Roses Home for Girls. The group will be taking the VBS Power Lab to share with the girls. This year, they will also introduce Total Sculpt to the older girls. Total Sculpt is an exercise class that will teach them good physical fitness habits. There is a short Bible study at the end of each class. The team will return on July 18.
All of the team participants are very excited to be returning to our friends in Central America. They love the girls and the girls love this group! If you would like to be involved, here are some suggestions:
Sponsor a teen as a prayer partner before, during and after their trip. Email Anne Taylor (awesumanne@hotmail.com) and she will send you the name and picture of a student for whom you may pray.
Purchase an outreach soccer ball for $10. The team will take it with them for the girls. The soccer balls are a special Gospel outreach tool designed specifically for this purpose.
Sponsor an OLR girl who will be taking Total Sculpt by purchasing her exercise mat, boxing gloves, and workout band. For $50 you will supply a girl with all she needs for her class.

EYC at the Cathedral exists to meet the
spiritual and emotional needs of our middle and high school youth in 6-12th
grade. Our hope and desire for all our young people is to see them grow in
their personal relationship with Jesus Christ and learn how to live their
life for Him as they mature in their faith and make personal choices about
their future.
